Jake Stryker

• Where did the name of your character come from?

Stryker is like one of the coolest surnames ever. Jake is just a name that I like.

• What species is your character and why did you choose that species?

Human. Because he lives in the "real world".

• What color is your character and why? Hair/skin/eyes/etc

He's mostly skin-coloured. With brown hair/eyes. Because I happen to have those same attributes.

• What is your character's personality and how does this compare to your IRL personality?

We're pretty much the same. Jake has a temper, can be a bit arrogant, hates people who piss him off. He is also fiercely loyal and protective of friends and family.

• What is one item your character owns that is significant?

His sword, Fang. It's his most precious item in the world (excluding his daughter of course)

• What is one thing you think you would say to your character if you could meet?

Can I hold it? (Fang)

• What is one thing your character would say to you if you could meet?

Do I know you?

• How has your character changed over the years?

In his years, he's become less arrogant, more of a family man. He's less likely to put himself and others at risk. And hates authority even more.

So, there I was gloating about my awesome new salary on Dracomancer Forums, when ~FuzzballtheGreat started harassing me as usual. After a few more posts, *Lord-Zasz laughed his ass off and suggested that I turn it into a comic strip, as i've been after some one-off material for some time now.

And so i sketched the 5-panel strip. And all i have to say is I hope the lameness of the lineart adds to the humour.

What I learnt while drawing this:

• I need to swipe more plain paper from work


• I cannot draw anything in a gollum-style posture


• I should not be left unaccompanied near stationary.

I scrounged Thursday and Friday off. which is awesome because this week turned out incredibly stressful. I also spent £165 on a gaming binge, (delivery thursday) so it'll be a kick ass weekend!

I seem to be on a bit of an art roll at the moment. I have 2 work in progress pieces, one being Child Zelda from The Legend OF Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, the other being Ling Ling from Drawn Together doing dishes.

There is also a top secret thing that i've been doing

I may also try my hand at drawing a strip for our Random Chat Comic. Which should be a laugh because my lineart skills generally suck


So Yeah. I'm exited. Tomorrow i can watch Battlestar Galactica: Razor. Featuring more of the Late Admiral Cain, who is undeniably the best guest character EVER. From what i've heard, Razor might answer some questions or otherwise fuel my speculations about season 4 of BSG. Either way, it'll give me my BSG fix to last me until Season 4 starts. It's the last season though, so there's gonna be a painful detox next spring/summer.

• Death by friendly fire (OVER and OVER) pisses me off. (FreeSpace 2)


• Zombies REALLY don't like shotguns (Resident Evil 4)

So yes. It didn't take as long as i expected to get my CSS working in a way i was happy with. It's easy when you know what the freaking boxes are called. So yeah, CSS goodness from here on in.





Yes, i'm actually in the process of arting. Seriously! Although as for *WHEN* I actually get off my ass and finish them, thats a different matter entirely.

There's also rumours that I might go solo and do a Comic strip for Random Chat.

Drawn Together characters seem to be a great choice for attracting visitors to my humble gallery. Captain Hero has scored 8 's, and Ling Ling & Ling Ling - Battle have scored 7 's each. When you consider that after that, I have one deviation on 6 and another on 4, followed by eight on 1, that really puts things into context.
